Hon. Susan D. Solle
Judge Susan D. Solle joined the General Division on January 1, 2021. She was elected to the position in November 2020.
Before joining the court, Judge Solle was a trial lawyer for 18 years and practiced law with the firm of Dinsmore & Shohl since 2004. She received her undergraduate degree, with honors, from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, and her law degree, also with honors, from the University of Dayton School of Law.
Judge Solle’s professional experience includes working as an acting judge in the Montgomery County Municipal Court, as a judicial staff attorney for Judge James A. Brogan in the Ohio Second District Court of Appeals, and as a law clerk for Judge David G. Sunderland in the General Division.
Judge Solle has served as a board member and president of the Dayton Bar Association, and as president of Legal Aid of Western Ohio and Advocates for Basic Legal Equality. She currently serves as president of the board of the Dayton Bar Foundation and has been an adjunct professor at the University of Dayton School of Law since 2004.
Married for 30 years, Judge Solle and her husband, Jeff, have two grown sons.
