Judge Angelina N. Jackson

Judge Angelina N. Jackson was elected to the General Division in 2022 after practicing law for 18 years.

A Dayton native, Judge Jackson graduated from Colonel White High School.  She received her B.A. from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee and her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

From 2015 until her election to the bench, Judge Jackson worked as an Assistant Montgomery County Public Defender representing indigent criminal defendants at the trial and appellate levels.  Prior to her employment as a public defender, she practiced in the civil litigation division of the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl. She has served as Director of the Race & Justice Project at the Ohio Justice & Policy Center, where she litigated civil rights cases and engaged in criminal justice policy advocacy.  Judge Jackson also served as Director of Public Service & Externships/Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Judge Jackson has volunteered with a number of community service initiatives, including community-based legal clinics, the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project, and the City of Dayton’s Use of Force Committee. She is a member of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court, the Ohio Black Judges Association, the National Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Dayton Bar Association, where she previously served as a board member and as co-chair of the Diversity Committee.
