JUDGE STEVEN DANKOF
Judge Dankof was appointed as a General Division Judge on December 30, 2010, and re-elected to the bench in 2012 and 2014. He currently serves on the Court’s Civil and Criminal Practice Committees and is President of the Judicial Advisory Board of the Monday Community Correctional Institution.
Judge Dankof received his BBA summa cum laude from Ohio University in 1973 and his JD with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1976. He is a member of The Order of the Coif.
Upon graduation from law school, Judge Dankof practiced with the Dayton firm of Smith & Schnacke until 1989. Thereafter, and until his appointment to the bench, Judge Dankof was a trial lawyer in Dayton, focusing his practice primarily in complex civil litigation including personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, was named “Dayton Best Lawyers - Personal Injury Litigator of the Year 2010” and is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell. Judge Dankof was an instructor at Antioch University – McGregor School MBA Program from 1992-2009 and often lectures for numerous CLE Programs. Judge Dankof is a member of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court and the Dayton Lawyers Club.
Most recently, Judge Dankof was instrumental in creating and presenting on November 18, 2016, “An Evening for Justice & Peace” in concert with the Dayton Literary Peace Prize.
